Too Hot To Handle

A Culture Contrary To Nature

October 1, 2023 • Brannen Padgett • Romans 1:18–32

In this thought-provoking sermon, we explore the implications of a rapidly changing culture on important issues of morality. Drawing from the teachings of Paul in Romans 1:18-32, we examine the ways in which humanity has turned inward for truth rather than seeking guidance from a higher power. We discover that this has resulted in a shift away from traditional family values, and a rejection of God's design for romance and marriage. Using the Greek phrase, "para physin," which has historically been used to refer to homosexual activity, we delve into the biblical and creation perspectives on this controversial topic. We explore the unique compatibility of male and female bodies, and the procreative purpose of marriage, as outlined in scripture. Although sin has corrupted our desires, both sexual and non-sexual, we must resist the temptation to give in to our base instincts and instead follow God's design for our lives. We must strive to live in accordance with his will, and resist the temptation to follow the misguided ideals of a culture that is rapidly changing. Join us for this challenging and thought-provoking sermon on morality and the importance of seeking truth in a world that has lost its way.
