Pastor Glen gives us an overview of the Shepherd's responsibility in caring for the welfare of the sheep. A shepherd must plant grass for his sheep to eat, map and follow a food cycle, repair trails, scheduled watering holes, break up beaver dams, create safe water crossings, fight predators such as coyotes, wolves, and big cats, and seek and save the lost sheep. He relates all that to Jesus.

The Lord is my shepherd I shall fear no evil. Surprisingly enough the word “Evil” doesn't just mean scary demonic things. The concordance says that because “The Lord is my shepherd I shall not fear something bad, adversity, affliction, calamity, distress, grief, harm, or hurt.”
