Infertility

Bad Ink, Part 1

IF. Stands for infertility. A big ugly word that hangs over the hearts of more than seven million people. It’s also a complicated word. It’s a word that lots of people think is an easy fix when it’s not. It’s a turn-your-world-on-it’s-head word. A word that simultaneously brings silence and shouting to deep places in one’s soul. A word that touches things inside you that you didn’t want to be touched. The problem of infertility can be a very difficult one, especially for couples who have looked forward to children all their lives. Christian couples can find themselves asking “Why us, Lord?” Surely God wants Christians to be blessed with children to love and nurture. For many couples, one of the most heart-wrenching aspects of infertility is not knowing whether it is a temporary or permanent situation. If it is temporary, how long must they wait? If it is permanent, how do they know that, and what should be their course of action?

Singleness

May 25, 2014 • Luther Ramsey

Single individuals struggle with many dangerous assumptions and unique challenges. The single adult small group from oneChurch tackles many of these issues by sharing from their own lives and talking about specific people and Bible passages that spoke to them in their struggles. What happens when you make a partner in life your everything? Is sex restricted because young people are not mature enough to handle it, or is there more to it? Why doesn’t God help me make my life the way I envision it? Why am I still single? Why am I still at this job? Big Idea: God is a good Father who only gives good gifts to His children.

Pornography, Part 2

May 18, 2014 • Craig Gross

We are part of a culture that spends more money each year on pornography than country music, rock music, jazz music, classical music, Broadway plays, and ballet combined. Well, today we’re exposing the dirty little secret called pornography. It is an open and honest discussion to bring awareness about the reality of pornography use and abuse that is rampant in the church while bringing hope to those who are struggling with pornography addictions/strongholds. For some it is ludicrous to link three Xs with "church," and for others it is long overdue. The one undeniable truth that can't be ignored is the blatant push for all things sexual in our society. Porn Sunday seeks to drive the conversation about pornography into our churches, families and lives. This Sunday’s service brings healing to those sitting in churches who are caught up in pornography.
