There is an often-ignored principle that determines the quality and direction of our lives. While we are quick to recognize the importance of this principle in our children’s lives, as adults, we feel like we can disregard it. However, the truth is that we are just as impacted by the power of this principle now, as we were when we were younger. Today, we will discuss how we can become intentional about harnessing this principle for our spiritual development.

Simply Own it

Ownership provides privilege, pride, freedom, and a sense of responsibility. When you rent, you don’t get those same feelings, because it isn’t yours. We rag out things that aren’t ours, but we take responsibility when we’re the owner. There’s a principle there. Something happens when you feel ownership. You no longer act like a spectator or consumer, because you’re an owner. Faith is at its best when it’s that way too. It’s best lived when it’s owned.

This faulty definition has caused many churches to actually get in the way of those interested in a relationship with God. So what does it look like to spiritually mature? And how do you get there? In this session we’ll discuss how you can partner with the church to move in the right direction and bring others along with you.

Most people don't have a problem with God. After all, plenty of people show up for church on Christmas and Easter. But unfortunately people do have a problem with the church. Over the centuries Christians have made Christianity so complex that people simply write it off as irrelevant and confusing. In this session we’ll see how this problem surfaced in the very early days of the church, how they dealt with it then, and how we should deal with it now.
