"Depths of Grace" is our sermon series through the book of Jonah. Result is the sixth and final week of this series. As the story of Jonah concludes, we see the Lord’s dealing with the prophet himself. God has shown grace to Nineveh and He continues to show grace to Jonah, although it is not quite pleasurable to him. God teaches Jonah a valuable lesson and that lesson has implications for all of us. Repentance

As Jonah’s message reaches the King of Nineveh, his repentance results in a city-wide revival. When we understand our sin, our sorrow leads to change. That change can be contagious and inspire others to repent as well. Finally we see some reluctant obedience from the prophet, Jonah, as he is spat out by the fish and commanded again to go to Nineveh. Jonah finds that his preaching comes easy, as the people quickly repent. God had went before His prophet to soften the hearts of His people and draw them to Himself. Realization

Rebellion
