We Believe: God the Father
January 1, 2017 • Nick Shultz
“I know she said not to,” 6-year old Tim thought as he reached for the candy in the cupboard, “but I want it!” We’ve all been there. This week we talk about our belief in God the Father – the first person of the Trinity. Even though we broke His rules, He never gave up on us. He could have left us to our own devices, but he didn’t. He’s a good Father, and good fathers never stop loving their children.
We Believe: God the Holy Spirit
January 15, 2017
We cannot believe or come to Jesus by our own reason or strength, but the Holy Spirit has called us, enlightened us with his gifts, sanctified us and kept us in the true faith. In the same way, the Holy Spirit calls, gathers, enlightens and sanctifies the whole Christian church on earth, and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true faith. He daily and richly forgives all our sins and the sins of all believers. On the last day, he will raise us and all the dead, and give eternal life to all believers in Christ!
