Ephesians - How I Stand

Ephesians 6:10-20

01/08/18 Prayer on the Battlefield

January 8, 2018 • Richard Cimino

Life between the already and the not yet is a battlefield. Tonight we're going to take one last look at the subject of our warfare. Ephesians 6 contains the "great warfare" passage written by the apostle Paul from a Roman prison. We have come as far as verse 18 in Ephesians 6. At the core of this final section of the letter is Paul's instruction about the whole armor of God, and how is essential it is. We simply cannot stand in our new identity and we cannot stand in mission without the "panoplia". He says that we must appropriate it; we must take it to ourselves; we must put it on.

12/18/17 Fit for Battle - Outfitted for Battle

Everything that Jesus has done for us - every element of our NEW IDENTITY in Jesus - every moment of our NEW WAY OF LIVING - is going to be opposed. Every believer is on active duty. There is not a day that we are not on active duty. In Ecclesiastes 8:8, we're told that as long as we live between the already and the not yet - there is no discharge from the battle. In our first two nights in this final section we looked at the foundational truths about this conflict. We've looked at the nature of this warfare, the nature of our adversary, the tactics of our adversary and how our minds are a major theater of this conflict. Tonight we move from the description of this war that we're in to the description of the warrior. Are you fit for battle; are you outfitted for battle?

11/20/17 The Reality of Our Warfare

November 20, 2017 • Richard Cimino

Tonight, were going to begin to look at our WARFARE! The point of our time tonight is not to get into the particulars of the specific schemes of the devil or the specific details of the weapons of our warfare. The point of our time tonight is to see the REALITY and the NATURE of our warfare! In Ephesians 6:10-12 Paul addresses the reality of OUR WARFARE. He describes the battlefield: Ephesians 6:10-12 10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
