That's Not My Baby!

December 6, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

Joseph is one of the most overlooked characters of the Christmas story. There are no recorded words of Joseph in the Bible, but he plays such an important part in the birth story; trusting in God's Word and adopting his Son Jesus as his own. Open your bibles on Matthew 1:18 as we examine Joseph and the example of putting others first and being obedient to God's word.

Barriers to Thanksgiving

November 22, 2015 • Rev. Matt Hearn

Why Don't You Grow Up?!

November 15, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

The writer of Hebrews addresses the issue of spiritual immaturity to his audience in Hebrews 5:11 - 6:3. Christians start out as spiritual babies who can only drink milk, but is it okay to still be exclusively drinking milk when you've been a Christian for 30 - 40 years? The problem of immaturity is that it frustrates the advancing of our faith. Open your bibles to Hebrews and join Dr. Blanton as we study on how to live up to our spiritual potential.

Orphan Sunday

November 8, 2015 • Rev. Matt Hearn

What is pure and genuine faith? James, brother of Jesus, writes about pure faith, meaning that there are those with an incorrect view of faith. Join Rev. Matt Hearn as we celebrate Orphan Sunday and our need to take care of "the least of these."

Now I Can See. . . Well, Sort Of

November 1, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

Mark records an example of discipleship through a story of Jesus healing a blind man in stages. Pastor Bobby presents questions of curiosity and lessons of clarity for the passage of Mark 8:22-26.

The Great Gap

October 25, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

At the end of our Christian life we hope to hear, "Well done my good and faithful servant!" But a life wasted on earth instead of living for God and being unfruitful won't yield such hopeful results. Today we read Peter's description of three things required for life and godliness.

Living in the Holy Spirit

October 18, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

When a new believer is “born again” and sets out on the pathway of Christ, it doesn’t take long until that new believer realizes that trying to follow Christ in a sinful world is extremely difficult. For one thing, we still have a sinful nature. Whatever the choices before us, we are all predisposed toward choosing the “sinful” option. We realize pretty soon that although we have chosen to follow Christ, we are at war. The sinful nature is now at war with the Spirit of God that has come to take up His residence within us. Join Pastor Bobby Blanton on Living in the Holy Spirit.

Guest Speaker Actionnel Fleurisma

September 27, 2015 • Actionnel Fleurisma

In 1987, Actionnel Fleurisma met his soon to be wife, Yolande, visited the United States for the first time, and received a calling that God would use to set the isolated mountain region of Haiti he grew up in on an amazing course. After completing his course work at Central Piedmont Community College, Actionnel returned to Cathor Bayonnais Haiti, a mountain farming region about 90 miles north of Port au Prince. In a region with no roads, electricity, clean water, or modern services of any kind, he started OFCB Ministries and founded a Church. In 1992, beneath the mango trees outside the church, they began an elementary school with about 100 students sitting on banana leaf mats. Over 25 years later, almost 2,200 students are being educated each year in grades K-13 at two separate campuses in the region, and they all receive a meal each day. For most, it’s the only meal they have. God is using the nutrition and education to His glory in ways few could have imagined. The vision God gave Actionnel has grown into the shared vision of an educated and empowered generation with a vibrant and flourishing local Church behind them. Actionnel is the Senior Pastor of the Christian Church of Bayonnais and very active in regional ecumenical organizations that are equipping church leader to grow their churches and spread the Gospel.

The Reality and Recovery of Addiction

July 26, 2015 • Rev. Matt Hearn

Pastor Matt brings a message to women on bearing Christ's image in a dark world. One of the most well-known passages in Scripture of a godly woman is Proverbs 31. Today we'll explore to find who a Proverbs 31 woman is and how she bring light into a dark world.

A Snake On A Stake

July 5, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

(Today's message will reference Numbers 21.) All of us have been snake-bitten by the fatal venom of sin. Nobody is immune to this fatal venom, but God has given us a remedy in the cross of Christ. Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, Jesus was lifted up on the cross; and if you will look to Him and trust His work for you, you can live.

Boys To Men

June 21, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

We're all products of our past. Our spiritual life is very similar to the process of growing up. We communicate, understand, and reason as a child in our spiritual immaturity. As we get older though, our childish reasoning should be left in the past as we grow in maturity toward Christ. Open your bibles to 1 Corinthians 13 for Dr. Blanton's message on "Boys to Men."
