Christ First ... Life Change

A Disciple and the Question of Authority

October 11, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

Who has the authority in your life? Sometimes people refuse to become dedicated disciples by making excuses for why they can't follow Christ right now, giving their excuse the authority in their life. But you can't hide whether or not someone is a disciple. Discipleship is a public walk and others will know whether or not you are one. Being a disciple isn't a one-day-a-week practice. You can't confine it.

September 20, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

Are you an intentional disciple… or are you an accidental disciple? Jesus gave his disciples the Great Commission in Matthew 28, but we’re still left with questions and confusion. We understand that Jesus would send His followers, we understand the importance of publically identifying with Christ, and we understand the importance of teaching and obeying. The Triangle of Surrender (Pt. 4)

September 6, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

To surrender implies a change of allegiance from self to Jesus’ leadership. A disciple is a believer who is on a journey to be like Jesus. That’s what Jesus meant when He said, “Follow me.” A disciple has taken a decisive step of full surrender of self and is making a daily, full and total effort to be like Jesus. You can’t be a true believer and not intend to give Christ everything. Surrendering our lives to Christ will set in motion a process that will transform us from the idle, weak and disappointing Christians we are, into being His disciples.

The Cost of Following Jesus (Pt. 3)

August 30, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

Following Jesus requires us to make tough decisions and consider the cost. Some won't follow Christ because of their comfortable religious traditions, some because following Christ creates uncertainty, some because the call to discipleship is immediate, and some because Jesus calls us to give our undivided focus to Him. Have you answered the call to following Jesus?

The Call To Discipleship (Pt.2)

August 23, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

Jesus makes it very clear what it means to follow Him and be a disciple. The call to discipleship is a radical one, and Luke 9:23 teaches what it takes for a believer to be an effective disciple for Christ.

Christ First ... Life Change (Pt 1)

August 16, 2015 • Dr. Bobby Blanton

In every great movement in history, in every great accomplishment, there is a defining moment; a “kairos” moment of choice and decision that changes the course of one’s destiny. LNBC is upon such a time. Dr. Bobby Blanton launches the new vision of LNBC: "Christ First ... Life Change." You cannot put Christ first in your life and not expect it to result in change. As a true Christ-follower who puts Christ first, and for a church who seeks to put Christ first, we should expect and anticipate change rather than fear it. This may well be our "kairos" moment; our decisive time when we are called to enter the battlefield. Will you take up your cross of follow Him?
