It is well known that the race does not begin on the track, or even at the starting line but it begins off the field with countless hours of preparation. The same is true in ministry and leadership. John Wooden is a well decorated basketball coach, and follower of Christ, who is often quoted as saying "Failing to prepare is preparing to fail." As servant leaders and followers of Jesus how we prepare privately will determine how we minister publicly.
