Do The Next Right Thing (Full Service)

It is our desire to plan the future. Dreaming about the future (finances, retirement, relationships, etc.) can give us “hope that drives us.” However, too much future thinking can rob us of what God is doing in our lives today. Moreover, it is Jesus that is our hope, not our future plans that guide us. James warns the readers of his epistle that the better thing to do is focus on, “Just doing the right thing.”

We have discussed “Immanuel,” (God with us is better than Ben with us), we are called to have a desire to LISTEN to God, instead of just hearing Him, and we have learned we must have our FOCUS on Him, and not “go through the motions,” then the next thing we will talk about is how God has given us all talents: Lagrange First Church of God has been Talents by God.”

The prophet Isaiah speaks to Judah about how they had taken their focus off The Lord. He describes their condition as a people and their unawareness of this separation. God tells them how meaningless their religious actions have become. And after God has exploited their corrupt state, then he tells them what to do- he draws their focus back to loving people and loving God.
