The words that founded our nation were more than an ideal. They were an aspiration, a goal, a shared vision to rally behind. Rooted in eternal Truth that God created us all, and loves us all equally, the United States of America is unique in that it is the only nation founded upon an idea rather than an ethnicity or religion. Though we haven’t fully lived up to it, our imperfection shouldn’t hold us down, but remind us that there is still work to be done, and that we each have a part to play in bringing about the fullness of this great promise.
This weekend we gathered to celebrate our freedom in Christ, bought with His blood; and the protections of our Liberty, bought with the blood of those who have gone before us.
