The Resurrection Gospel

In this passage from Corinthians 15, Paul reminds believers that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day. The gospel proclaims that Jesus lives, and that our debt is paid in full. This should give us full assurance and security, knowing that we have been saved by grace and made right with God. Are we living as if we understand this resurrection gospel?

Victory Over Death

In this final passage from 1 Corinthians 15, Paul provides further explanation and detail regarding the resurrection. In comparing death and resurrection to the sowing of a seed, we are reminded that what comes up out of the ground is far more glorious than what went in. The resurrected bodies of believers will be sinless, perfected, and imperishable. Are we putting more time and energy into our earthly bodies, or into those things that have spiritual and eternal value?

If No Resurrection, What's The Point?

In this passage from 1 Corinthians 15, Paul continues to argue for the truth and importance of the resurrection. He reminds the Corinthians that without the resurrection many of their actions, including the willingness to suffer for Christ, would be pointless. As believers, if our motivation is not the gospel and the hope of the resurrection, we are not likely to persevere through trials. Our lives are a reflection of what we believe. Do we see evidence that the gospel is what motivates our actions?
