The Supremacy of Jesus Christ: Worthy of All Praise

Thanksgiving week I can hardly wait for Thursday’s Feast of Thanksgiving – turkey, turkey and more turkey with scrumptious mashed potatoes, cranberries, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie – yummy! This is my verse for enjoying this great feast and all the festivities that go with it in our home:

Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” NKJV

This is a day of celebrating The Lord our God and all He has done for us, don’t mourn over all your failures, focus on the One always worthy of praise and celebrate! Nehemiah’s exhortation to the nation of Israel is just as fitting for us today and every day…

Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Hebrews 13:15-16 NKJV
