Are there any of these teachings that are especially hard for you to grasp? Re-read Matthew 5:1-12 for more context on the Beatitudes. How would you characterize the differences in a “happy life” and a “blessed life”? Which would you rather live? What would it look like for you to live counter-culturally? Are there any teachings of Jesus that especially backwards in our society today? If so, how can we as Christians continue to live in a way that honors Jesus?
