This week Jesus taught the religious leaders and us some new table manners, the importance of humility and hospitality if we are going to accept God's gracious invitation to join God's banquet. We considered who is at our table and who isn't, how do we stretch ourselves to welcome and be welcomed at a variety of tables to catch a glimpse of God's realm here on earth. “God does not look at the glitter of our guest list, God looks to see that we have practiced the generosity and inclusiveness of the kingdom in our daily social relationships. He gave it miraculously to a woman bent over for eighteen years and tried to offer it to the synagogue leader who was bound up by a need to cling to his privileges and power by keeping things the same.
