Good Fences

Good Fences - Week 4

May 5, 2024 • Eric Hankins • Genesis 6:13–22

Everywhere we look, there are fences. In fact, boundaries are so fundamental, without them, there would be nothing to see at all. We can look at these boundaries, these fences, in one of two ways. Negatively, boundaries constrain us. They get in our way. Wouldn’t it be better to be free of them? But, positively, boundaries tell us who we are, what we’re for, and how to be rightly related to everything else. Truly, “good fences make good neighbors.” The book of Genesis shows us that the goodness of God’s creation is possible only through the goodness of the boundaries He has set. Trusting His boundaries is abundant life; rejecting them is deprivation and death. Christ alone is the restoration of God’s “good fences,” and trusting Him gives us a new Genesis, a chance to begin again.  Give toward what God is doing through First Fairhope: https://firstfairhope.org/give - Join us in person or online every Sunday.
