Prepared through Hardship

The promise of a journey was met with the harshness of added labor with fewer resources. When Moses turns to God, his response is “now you shall see what I will do.” God promises us hardship, but that it is for a purpose. When we allow God to be present in our struggles, we can shall see what he will do.

Prepared for a Detour

Upon leaving Egypt, God takes the people on a detour that avoids an enemy he knows they are not prepared for. We so often want and expect the shortest path to a strong and lively faith.  Sometimes, strong and vibrant faith is built not in spite of the detours, but because of them.
