A Different Kind of Community

Stop Hiding. Confess to one another

July 11, 2021 • Brian Watts

All of us hide. We try to conceal things about ourselves from others. We don’t want people to see the real us because its embarrassing or people might think differently or people might not love us as much. So we hide. And this can be especially true in the church. It’s a rather amazing phenomenon but the church can often be the place where we are most afraid for people to see certain things about us. Yet God intended for the church to be the place where you can stop hiding, a place where you can come clean and find healing. James 5 opens our eyes to something remarkable: a community where no one needs to hide anymore. James calls us to stop hiding and to confess to one another.
