Cliffhanger: How will we respond to God's mercy?

The book of Jonah ends with a cliffhanger. God asks Jonah a question but he doesn't answer and we don't know what happened to Jonah. The book ends with a question to Jonah that he doesn’t answer because we are meant to answer it. God has a desire and a plan to reach the cities and nations and people of the world with his message of mercy. And the end of this book confronts us with a questions: do our concerns match the concerns of God? How will we respond to God's mercy?
