January 30, 2022 • Brian Watts • James 2:14–26

You do what you believe. If you really believe something, you will act on it. Your faith is expressed in action. If you do not act on what you say you believe then your stated belief is fake. James shows us here that its possible to have a faith that is fake. It’s possible to say you believe in Jesus Christ but not have real faith. How do you know?

God's Purposes in Our Trials

January 9, 2022 • Brian Watts • James 1:1–18

The letter of James is beloved by many and one of the main reasons is how practical it is. James addresses a variety of topics including trials, temptation, poverty, riches, materialism, favoritism, justice, our words, making plans, praying, conflict, sickness and more. His concern is to describe what authentic faith looks like. Faith, if it is real, will be expressed in action.
