Part 2: Minimum Requirements

When salvation is defined as simply a prayer that gets you into eternity (minimum requirement), the gospel is reduced to the point where for the insider, little to no change is required. And for the outsider, it keeps people from coming in.

Jesus told us to go and make disciples. But if we reduce salvation to just getting to eternity, we are proclaiming an eternal life that is actually disconnected from becoming a disciple of Christ.

God wants to save us from the isolation that so many are experiencing. The depth of the pain of our loneliness is an indicator of the height of the union for which we were made. We pursue this by first asking God for the desire, then dwelling in His Word and cultivating the habit.
