In this message, we see Luke's account of Peter's call to be a disciple of Jesus which takes place at the Sea of Galilee. Peter's path to true discipleship begins with hearing the word preached, an act of obedience, the revelation of Christ, and a forsaking of all to follow Christ. This path to discipleship is also our path to true discipleship!
Luke 5:12-16 | Jesus' Willingness to Heal

In this short passage we see the powerful impact of Jesus healing touch upon a willing outcast that expressed desperation and humility in approaching Christ to meet his need. Jesus Christ is the same today, willing to make clean those who come to him and seek his healing touch.
Luke 5:17-26 | The Authority to Forgive Sin

In this message, a paralyzed man is presented to Jesus for the healing of his body. Unbeknownst to the man, his friend, and the crowd, Jesus not only heals the man but provides forgiveness of his sins based on their demonstrated faith. In this pericope, Jesus proves his authority to forgive sin by providing the sign of the miraculous healing.
Luke 5:27-32 | The Call to Discipleship

Jesus calls Levi the tax collector to follow him and become his disciple. This unlikely convert demonstrates the actions of a person who has been greatly forgiven by Jesus and serves as a model for complete obedience and commitment to our Lord.
