In Revelation 10, there is a pause in the sequence of the seven Judgment trumpets. Just when it seems that everything is coming to a final conclusion, and when it appears that God's judgment can't get any worse, there is a pause—a commercial break in the epic reality of the Last Days. Chapter 10 revolves around a mighty angel, a little scroll, and a recommissioning for John to "prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages, and kings." Additionally, we learn a truth about "Feeding on God's Word." This passage is truly awesome!

Famous Last Words

In Revelation 21:9-22:5, we encounter the Holy City of God: the new Jerusalem. John’s vision describes the new heavens and the new earth, and we want to be able to gaze upon this city and not lose sight of the majesty of it because we are overly obsessed with interpreting its many individual parts. John is being descriptive to help us enlarge our longing and our love for the new heavens and the new earth, and to live now in light of eternity.

See, Sense, and Enjoy

These final chapters of Revelation 21-22 reveal to us the day when all those who are in Christ will leave behind "This is not the way it should be" for good, and enter into the ultimate and eternal "I was made for this" because, in fact, we were made for this. In Revelation 21:1-8, John tells us what we can expect to See, Sense, and Enjoy in the New Heaven and New Earth.
