Bigger Than Me

Part 1

April 3, 2016 • Pastor Tony Stewart

In this series, Pastor Tony reminds us of the truth of Jesus' words in John 14:12 when He tells His disciples (and that includes us), "I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” ‭ It is hard for us to imagine we could ever do "greater works" than Jesus, but His plan and purpose for us are always bigger than we are. If they weren't, we wouldn't need Jesus or the work He did on the cross. That work restored our relationship with the Father and released the Holy Spirit to fill us with the power to do those "greater works." Have you ever said in a moment of frustration, "This is bigger than me! I can't do it!"? That is true, we can't do anything of real value without God's help, and acknowledging that fact is the first step to being able to do the bigger, the greater, things we never thought were possible. When we are walking in our God ordained season, we will find ourselves in the right place, at the right time, with the right spirit - then heaven will open and nothing will be able to stop us. Remember that even though life is filled with many challenges and pitfalls, God has a big Purpose and a big Plan for our lives, and He has given us the Power to see those become reality. Sometimes, though, God has to take us through the darkest moments to reveal the greatness of who He is and His purpose for our lives. Never forget, we are each here on purpose, for a purpose, and it takes a big God working on our behalf, giving us the power to see that purpose and plan come to pass. Don't be discouraged, walk in faith and believe. It will come to pass as Jesus promised.
