Make "God Room" for the Holy Spirit

May 22, 2016 • Dr Charles Kyker

There is no limit to the Lord’s strength and power, so why does the church often limit God–who is completely holy, all-knowing, wonderful, good, and sovereign–and refuse to “wait for power from on high” to accomplish the great mission Christ has set before us? "God Room" is that space between what you can do in your own strength and what God can do in His infinitely wonderful love, power, and strength. Make "God Room" today and experience an UPRISING in Holy Spirit Power like never before!

"All In" with the Holy Spirit

May 15, 2016 • Dr Charles Kyker

It’s easy to stand up for Jesus when everyone else is standing. But it becomes very difficult to take a stand for Christ when people around you are hostile toward the things of God, especially the name of Jesus. The Lord Jesus never said following Him would be easy.

Trust in the Holy Spirit

May 8, 2016 • Dr Charles Kyker

Our Lord is an expert at unveiling beauty through our circumstances if we surrender to Him. Now more than ever, the church must remember that we serve a mighty God and He is bigger than the problems and trials we face. It’s time His people experience an UPRISING of Holy Spirit-power, and in victory rise up to be lights in a dark and broken world. The only way we can make a difference in our time is through supernatural power that the indwelling Holy Spirit alone supplies.

Joy in the Holy Spirit

May 1, 2016 • Dr Charles Kyker

The Holy Spirit alone gives true joy that prevails through any circumstance. It’s rare to find someone filled with true joy from the Lord, and that person is probably not problem-free. Often the most joyous people are those who have endured many troubles and learned to lean into God’s goodness. Joy cannot be manufactured or mustered up through self-will or positive meditation. True joy–the kind that lasts–comes from heaven and reaches to the heart that surrenders every struggle, challenge, or hardship at the feet of our Savior. Have you experienced true joy?

In Control with the Holy Spirit

April 24, 2016 • Dr Charles Kyker

Living in the Spirit doesn’t happen by accident. From the beginning God has designed everything with order and purpose, including His gift of salvation for you and me. The Holy Spirit has always been at work drawing humanity to the things of God. The problem is, humanity does not so quickly stop and pay attention to the wind of God’s presence. We like to be in control. And sadly, most people never stop to consider the One who is ultimately in control, the One who breathed into us the breath of life (Genesis 2:7). God, sovereign and in ultimate control of all things, has given us the gift of free choice. It is baffling to stop and consider the many freedoms we have. And yet we are never more in control than when we are surrendering to the Holy Spirit’s lead. A healthy life of wise living begins with yielding to the One who knows us better than any other and who has our best interest at heart. Although it’s hard to give control to another, trust is how we grow personally and relationally at work and at home.

Posture, Prayer, and the Holy Spirit

April 17, 2016 • Pastor Harley Scalf

A posture of prayer and readiness positioned the apostles to receive power from on high. Jesus had told them to wait and pray. And that is what they did! Are we willing to wait on God, and while waiting, pray fervently and expectantly? If we are not willing to wait on God’s Spirit we will end up doing ministry and living life in our own strength, which is pitiful compared to heaven’s harness of power. The posture we take says everything about the desire of our heart. If we really love Jesus, we will seek to be filled with the Person and power of His indwelling presence.

The Acts of the Holy Spirit

April 10, 2016 • Dr Charles Kyker

The Holy Spirit is perhaps the most misunderstood person of the Trinity. We don’t speak much of the Holy Spirit because we don’t understand His role, purpose, and power. And yet, the very fact that we call Jesus Lord and desire to know Christ personally in the first place is due to the Holy Spirit at work in our lives. The Holy Spirit stirs within us a desire to know God. If you can remember back to the first time you heard the name of Jesus and something resonated inside of you, that was the Holy Spirit drawing you into a personal relationship with your Savior.
