Unexpected Difficulties
October 20, 2021 • Dr. Ken Lang
We are all going to face unanticipated situations that will challenge us. Even though we may not have seen them coming, God knew all along. When you walk with God, he will ensure that you get to the desired destination. Isaiah said, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you." (Isaiah 43:2). - Pastor Ken To watch our full service: https://youtu.be/w37_j6-wrjm
What Do Broken People Need?
Dr. Ken Lang
Pride - a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements. –It gets in our way and often sends us down the wrong path. C.S. Lewis said, “Pride gets no pleasure out of having something, only out of having more of it than the next man." Remember, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." James 4:6. Pastor Ken
Trust in Times of Trial

At this point in his life, Joseph has been sold to slave traders, shipped hundreds of miles from home, presumed dead, sold (again), falsely accused, unjustly imprisoned - and it’s not over yet! C.S. Lewis said, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains.” How is he speaking to you today? Pastor Stephen
God's ready. Are You?

God has a way of surprising us - sometimes he works in the lives of people who we thought would never come to Christ, and then . . . Bang! They come to know Christ and follow him. Wow! God surprises us. However, that should not surprise us but something should. One Christian leader said, "What surprises me most about God is that the Creator of the universe should want a relationship with me!" Pastor Ken

Lord, why me? Imagine losing everything that you invested in with no hope of recovery. The disciples and the women who followed Jesus had all their eggs in one basket: the Kingdom of the Messiah. But, now he's dead; now what? The cross didn't kill Christ, but Jesus destroyed death in his death on the cross. We can look back and see God's love in the death of Jesus. "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) Pastor Ken

There are two immutable facts about humanity and God. Human beings will fail - all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). The other is that Jesus never does - In him was no sin and he was faithful in all he did (1 John 3:5 and Hebrews 3:1-2). Remember that, the best in us will always come up short. But, Jesus will always arrive on time and see us through. Pastor Ken

There are times in our lives when we will be alone. Even if others are standing around us, we will be walking alone because they can't feel what we feel at that time. These places are not designed by God to destroy us, but to draw us into deep intimate communion in prayer. "In my distress, I called upon the Lord; to my God, I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice and my cry to him reached his ears." (Psalm 18:6) Pastor Ken
