At Caesarea Philippi, the disciples had just affirmed that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God [16:1-12]. Jesus wants them to understand that He is more than a mere mortal man like Moses or Elijah, but is in fact God in the flesh. The reality of the glorious God who dwells with man can transform your life forever.

The King’s commission, or Great Commission, provides the essence of the mission for all of Jesus’ disciples. Imagine the disciples in the midst of Jesus’ arrest, trials, and crucifixion.
