The term passion is used to describe Jesus’ suffering associated with the crucifixion and His powerful zealous love for us. Good Friday is good because of what Jesus did for us. Jesus gave His life so that you could be restored to God, forgiven of sin and experience life with God in this life and forever in the life to come. The work of redemption was accomplished at the cross, it is finished. Two-thousand years ago things did not seem good, as Jesus hung on the cross, but 7 recorded statements that He made, in light of His Resurrection, give us reason to be passionate for God.

A New Beginning

Have you ever hoped for a new beginning? I know that I have. There are things that I’ve done, or said, or failed to do that I should have done that I wish somehow could be erased or transformed. It would be amazing to receive favor anew from the most important person in your life. Today, this Resurrection Sunday (Easter), we will discover together how to have a new beginning. To live for Christ anew, afresh, once more. Jesus’ death and resurrection make new affections, new identity, and new purpose in Christ a reality.
