Proverbs 18:20-21 (8/17/17)

The Tongue

August 17, 2017

* Solomon is using a picture of the stomach as the conscience. * When you eat good food your belly (stomach) is satisfied. * When you speak good words your consciences is satisfied - at total peace. * I love nuts, but they kill my stomach - so I don’t eat many nuts anymore. * The same is true for me with sarcasm - I love doing it, but it hurts my conscience now. * Words will either build up or tear down. * A smart contractor measures twice and cuts once. * A wise person thinks twice and speaks once.
