All of us are, in a sense, the walking dead. We are alive physically but we are dead spiritually. We go through life groping in the dark, looking for signs of life. We do things that will give us the appearance of life...trying to find happiness, purpose, fulfillment.

Jesus came with the antidote. If we will trust in him, he will cause us to come alive spiritually and physical death will never conquer us.
