1. What things stuck out to you from this text? Is there anything in this text that challenges you?
2. Is following Jesus easy or hard? The answer may seem obvious, but how would you describe it?
3. If Jesus says things like “whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life,” how could he still call us to “rejoice” or “take heart” or “have peace”? Are those things mutually exclusive?
4. How did the Apostles ultimately do what they did?
