Conditions

Episode 319

Angus Buchan

Angus reminds us that God wants to be paramount in our lives! He wants to come first in our lives, and in that way we will be able to love those around us even more than before.

Luke 14:26-33
“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it -  lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?  Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.

Know Him

John 17:3, John 3:16, Isaiah 53:11

Isaiah 53:11. John 17:3. John 3:16. Jesus paid for your debt and my debt in full. He has taken all our sin upon Himself so that we can go free, but we need to repent of our sins and follow Him with our whole hearts. We need to get our lives right and make sure that we really know Him, because Jesus is coming soon.

No excuses

Matthew 7:16

Holiness is the end product of obedience. We will face the Lord one day, it is important that the Lord will know us on that day. We will be known by our fruits, by our lifestyle, not merely by what we say. If we love God, then we will obey His commandments, His will.

Honour our elders

Exodus 20:12

Exodus 20:12. God commands us to honour our parents. This is the first commandment in the Bible that comes with a promise. Respect them, ask God to give you a love for them and be patient with them.
