Don’t Be Deceived Series: False Prophets

March 18, 2024

Transcript: Reality shows like “America’s Got Talent” often include performers whose magic tricks can fool even the most observant people. Performers call it sleight of hand, but there is another “trick” we face spiritually -- the problem Jesus warned about regarding false prophets. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. In Matthew 24:11, Jesus taught that “many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.” His words are certainly true in our time. The emphasis on “many” can be easily found in today’s ministries, where numerous examples can be found. But we must also be aware of more subtle deceptions that include any teaching that is inconsistent with the Word of God. To stay focused in our faith includes remaining accurate in how we understand and apply spiritual truth. When we make Scripture our standard, we can guard against the sleight of hand found by today’s false prophets. Discover more at American Pastors Network dot net.

Walking with God Series: The Genuine Walk

March 15, 2024

Transcript: This week we’ve considered the genuine Christian walk. How’s your walk? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. Is your walk genuine and pleasing to God? Is it identifiable by both the world and the true Believers? Our walk should be with God, like Enoch. That’s  a personal walk. Our walk should be by faith not sight. That’s a purposeful walk where our focus is above faith. Our walk should be in the Spirit. That’s a powerful walk. Our walk should be in the light. That’s  a walk marked by holiness, obedient, living in the light of God’s Word, and reflecting Jesus who is the Light. The true Christian walk should be so contrasted to the darkness, so focused on the eternal that our fellowship with other true believers will be sweet and our love for other so strong the world will take note and want what we have. Does anyone want your walk? Discover more at American Pastors Network dot net.

Walking with God Series: Walking in the Light

March 14, 2024

Transcript: Walking with God, by faith, and in the Spirit are all pleasing to God. In I John 1:7, the Bible also says to ‘walk in the light, as He is in the light. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. While walking in the light is a common metaphor in contemporary Christian culture meaning, acting correctly. The real meaning is much deeper. Because Jesus is the light of the world and light comes from God the Father of lights, light stands in sharp contrast to darkness and evil. To walk in the light means that we consider Jesus as the light, that He truly is our light and that if a true believe, we are to reflect His light by living holy lives in obedience to the Light of His Word. When we walk in this light, we’ll have fellowship one with another. Others, will see the light, and know we are of the light because we love one another. Are you walking in the light? Walking with God Series: Walking in the Spirit

March 13, 2024

Transcript: This week we’ve learned to walk with God and to walk by faith not by sight. In, Gal. 5:25 the Bible tells us to also walk in the Spirit. I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. The Christian walk is active, not passive. It’s moving, growing, living. The Christian walk is personal -we are to walk with God. It’s purposeful. We are to walk by faith, not sight. The Christian walk is powerful. We are to walk in the Spirit. Though 95% of Americans self-identify as Christians, they do not walk personally with God but on their own, not by faith but by sight, not in the power of the Holy Spirit but in the power of their own spirit. How a person walks, with whom they walk, where they walk and upon what they focus when they walk makes all the difference if their walk, like Enoch, pleases God. How is your walk today? Walking with God Series: Walking by Faith, Not by Sight

March 12, 2024

Transcript: This week I’m talking about the Christian’s walk in life. Yesterday, I talked about Enoch who ‘walked with God’. The apostle Paul in II Cor. 5:7 instructs us to “walk by faith, not sight”. I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. Walking by faith means in part to walk believing in all that God has promised us. While the world tempts us to love what they love and can only see, as a child of God we’re admonished to cherish by faith what we alone can see .. by faith… an eternal heavenly home, an eternal life with Christ, with no sin, no tears, no sorrow. When we walk in this faith believing, we can keep our eyes focused on that which is above and will never pass away, rather than what we can see here but will soon pass away. Walk by faith today. Discover more at American Pastors Network dot net.

Walking with God Series: Walking with God

March 11, 2024

Transcript: This week I’ll talk about walking with God, walking by faith, walking in the Spirit, and walking in the light. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. Gen 5 tells us about Enoch, a man who ‘walked with God’. While others walked in sin, Enoch had a righteous walk. Separate from the world, his friends knew it well. To them, he was out of step. To God, He was right in step. Heb. 11:5 later records that Enoch ‘pleased God’ and so much so, that in a split second, God literally took him from an evil world to a holy heaven. Enoch did not taste death. What a remarkable life journey. While we’ll not likely be translated like Enoch, those of us alive today could be raptured and not taste of death. Now what a thought that is. May we all strive, like Enoch to ‘walk with God’ so that our walk would in every way “please God’. Discover more at American Pastors Network dot net.

America’s Greatest Problems Series: Truth

March 8, 2024

Transcript: This week, we've focused on America’s greatest problems, - pride, ungratefulness, turning God’s blessing to judgment, and broken families. But what’s America’s greatest problem? It’s not the economy or education. It’s the need for truth. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. All problems arise from the lack of knowing and living God’s truth. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Today, America is being destroyed, not by an opposing army, but from within. The ultimate hope for our nation is not found in government, but in God. As we discover His biblical answers to our problems, we can live in a way that is truly blessed. However, if we operate according to a humanistic and pragmatic worldview, we’ll only face increased judgment. Let’s commit together to change our nation, starting with a personal embracing of God’s truth. Discover more at American Pastors Network dot net.

America’s Greatest Problems Series: The Problem of Family

March 7, 2024

Transcript: Nearly every family in America includes a story of brokenness – another major problem in America. An entire generation’s been damaged by rampant divorce, and fatherless homes. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. Over 40 percent of America’s children are born in a single parent household. It’s rare to find a stable, godly home. II Timothy 3 says a sign of the last days is disobedience to parents, marriage problems and other godlessness. Yet we’re not without hope. Scripture encourages us to recognize God as our Father. Each of us, with God’s help start anew. Regardless of your past, you can change the future through a faithful marriage and as a godly parent. We need the Lord’s strength to lead well in our family, but it’s not impossible. This is one problem that can be fixed if we pursue God’s plan for the family in God’s way. America’s Greatest Problems Series: The Problem of Blessings to Judgment

March 6, 2024

Transcript: Another problem confronting America is God’s judgment. Any time a nation rejects God’s Word and spurns His ways blessings stop and judgment starts! Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. In Israel of old, God blessed the land with prosperity, good weather, healthy families and security from the enemy. But when they forsook the Lord, presumed upon God’s blessings, became ungrateful and lifted up their hearts in pride, God stopped His blessings and started Judgment. Sound like America today? Despite God’s desire to pour out blessing, because of His justice, He must send judgment upon those who disobey. As you consider your own life, are you presuming on His blessings? Are you walking in obedience which brings blessing or walking in pride and ungratefulness which will bring more judgment? His blessing should be desired more than any other pleasure in this life. America’s Greatest Problems Series: The Problem of Ungratefulness

March 5, 2024

Transcript: When people consider the signs of the last days, they often think of wars, rumors of wars or plagues, but there’s another sign Scripture mentions that we clearly see across America today. This is another of America’s greatest problems. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. In II Timothy 2:3, Paul wrote that “in the last days there will come times of difficulty.” One sin Paul identifies is ungratefulness. Being ungrateful is not only a problem but a sign of judgment. So, what’s it mean to be ungrateful? Ungratefulness is when we’re no longer thankful for what we’ve received or put another way, when we take credit for what God has done! When’s the last time you praised God, thanking Him, giving Him credit for your blessings. Take a moment right now to express your thanks to the Lord. Express gratitude for how He’s blessed your life. America’s Greatest Problems Series: The Problem of Pride

March 4, 2024

Transcript: America faces many problems today, and perhaps its greatest weakness is pride. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. In the Old Testament, we see a powerful example of the problem of pride in the life of King Uzziah. According to 2 Chronicles 26:16, he originally served the Lord, “But when he was strong, he grew proud, to his destruction,”. America’s led as a global superpower, yet we’ve also become proud in our time of strength. Uzziah was judged. The Bible says that God resists the proud. America is proud and God is judging. Unless we turn back to God in humility now, it will be too late! This turning back starts with God’s people humbling themselves – today! Let’s turn our hearts toward God, seeking His mercy as the answer to our wicked Godless pride. In our sin, only His grace is sufficient to meet our need. The Greatest Needs Confronting America Series: The Need for Love

March 1, 2024

Transcript: What’s the greatest need in America today? It’s not a vaccine or a better economy, but something only Christ can give. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. This week, I’ve presented greatest needs in America. repentance, a revived church, truth, and perseverance. A greater need and more powerful in many ways is the need to demonstrate agape love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 teaches, “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” You see, Jesus taught that others will know we are His followers by our love for one another. This convicting truth challenges us to evaluate our daily actions. We let our light shine brightest when we walk in truth, witness of the truth and show Godly love to others. There’s no greater need in our nation, or for our world. How well are you demonstrating God’s love? Discover more at American Pastors Network dot net.

The Greatest Needs Confronting America Series: The Need for Endurance

February 29, 2024

Transcript: What does every Christian need? Endurance! It’s been said the Christian life’s not a sprint. but a marathon. And it’s true! But how do you run the race with endurance? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. Hebrews 12 teaches us to “run with endurance the race set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.” These powerful words of Scripture remind us our victory is found in our relentless pursuit of Christ. We live in a culture that values speed. We cook food in a microwave, and find ourselves frustrated if our internet connection’s too slow. This attitude though often creeps into our spiritual lives, as we find ourselves ready to give up when God doesn’t answer right away. Yet Scripture’s filled with examples of those who made a great impact by not giving up. Let’s run with endurance and focus on Jesus today. Discover more at American Pastors Network dot net.

The Greatest Needs Confronting America Series: The Need for Truth

February 28, 2024

Transcript: What does every person in America need? The Truth. In Hosea 4:6, God said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. The people of Israel had rejected knowledge substituting personal pleasure for Truth. Hosea 4:9 notes, “And it shall be like people, like priest; I will punish them for their ways.” You see, when we abandon truth, we invite judgment upon our lives and upon our churches. Instead, 3 John 4 says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” So, if we truly seek to glorify God, and walk in power in this life, we must build our lives on His truth. God’s Word is truth. Jesus is the Way and the Truth. Let’s intentionally follow our Lord, obey His Word, and grow in truth. Discover more encouraging resources at American Pastors Network dot net.

The Greatest Needs Confronting America Series: The Need for a Revived Church

February 27, 2024

Transcript: Transcript: What does the Church in America need most today? More than reopened, it needs revived! What will it take to awaken the apostate Church of today? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. The Apostle James served as leader of the First Christian Church of Jerusalem. When he wrote about revival, he said, “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” You see, God goes where he is welcomed. As individuals and churches, we must make Christ and obedience to Him our top priority. James goes on, “Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” Even as believers, we regularly stand in need of confession and cleansing. Our actions reflect our hands. Our hearts represent our thoughts. So as the True Church, let’s lead the way by, confessing our sins, and drawing near to God praying for a Revived Church in America.
