But the Bible speaks repeatedly, unambiguously and unapologetically of God’s jealousy.
It is one of the first things God teaches Israel about himself (at their first ‘meeting’ at Mt Sinai, as part of the second commandment): You shall not make for yourself an idol...You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God. (Ex 20/4-5)
Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. (Ex 34/14) This follows, without any sense of contradiction, the famous revelation of himself God gave to Moses
